Confluence Publishing Pro
Overview
Publish your Markdown documents directly to Confluence. PaperQuire converts your content to Confluence-compatible format and uploads it via the Confluence API.
Setup
Go to Settings → Confluence. Enter your Confluence URL, email, and API token (generate one at id.atlassian.com). Test the connection to verify your credentials. Credentials are stored locally and encrypted.
Publishing a Document
Click File → Publish to Confluence or use the command palette. Choose the target space and parent page. PaperQuire converts Markdown to Confluence storage format, uploads images as attachments, and creates or updates the page.
Updating Existing Pages
If a page was previously published from PaperQuire, it remembers the link. Re-publishing updates the existing page instead of creating a duplicate. You can also manually link a document to an existing Confluence page by its URL.
What Gets Converted
Headings, lists, tables, images, code blocks, callouts, and links convert cleanly. Mermaid diagrams are exported as PNG images. Some advanced formatting may be simplified for Confluence compatibility.
Limitations
- Custom CSS and template styling do not transfer — Confluence uses its own styles.
- Very large documents (100+ pages) may need to be split into multiple Confluence pages.
- Confluence API rate limits apply. If you hit a rate limit, wait a minute and retry.
- Embedded fonts are not supported — Confluence uses its default font stack.
- Two-column layouts and custom page sizes are not preserved.
